Yes, dogs fart. Their gassy episodes are relatively mild, but that wasn’t the case for one dog owner. Her dog was dropping stink bombs; they were so bad she decided to go to a vet to see what was going on.
The dog owner paid a lot of money to figure out what was going on with her dog but was blown away when she found out where the stench was coming from.
Discovering the stench
The dog owner didn’t notice anything peculiar about her dog until one day at dinner with her husband. Smelling something foul when you’re eating can disturb your meal, and this happened to them. They got a whiff of a smelly fart.
The owner got a whiff of the smell and instantly turned to her husband to see if he smelled the same thing. She knew something was wrong because her husband made a disgusted face. The owner said she took notice of her husband and “knew it wasn’t just me.”
The dog owner wasn’t sure of what she was smelling because she was pregnant. Her current state heightens her sense of smell, so she worried that she was the only one who noticed that offensive smell during dinner, but that wasn’t the case.
The owner said, “I couldn’t stand the smell and left the room.” At this point, she didn’t think about it anymore. She thought something might have upset the dog’s stomach and that the stinky fart won’t happen again. The dog lover knew her dog farts sometimes, but the farts are never this offensive.
The problem is the stinky farts kept coming. They would creep up on them while they were relaxing at home. They were watching TV or having a conversation, and all of a sudden, an unbearable smell hit them. The owner said it smelled like rotten eggs, and that wasn’t normal for the dog.
They couldn’t do anything to lessen the smell. It would just show up and torture them for a while. They resorted to everything, from scented candles to incense, and failed to fight the smell.
It was a powerful, stinky beast they couldn’t get rid of. After a while, they decided to go after what they believed was the source of the stench: their dog’s diet. The owner bought different types of dog food; some were healthier food options. Nothing seemed to work, and they grew tired of the stench, so they decided to take the dog to the vet.
The vet tested their dog, Jerry, for ailments that could cause this crazy stench and nothing showed up in the results. Some of the tests were pretty expensive, yet they kept coming back without a clear answer. Of course, this confused everyone because something was causing this smell, so there had to be an answer somewhere.
This whole ordeal went on for five weeks. The dog owner began to think something was wrong with Jerry that couldn’t be detected. One day, she broke down and cried over this.
After all that, her husband confessed that the farts weren’t coming from Jerry at all. Jerry went through so much, and it was all for nothing because it was her husband who was farting. She was furious with him. The trauma she and Jerry went through could have been avoided if he just confessed at the beginning. She remembers throwing him out of the house as soon as he confessed.
Later, she said she wasn’t upset he didn’t admit to passing gas. Confessing that his gas was that stinky might have been embarrassing for him and she understood that. What she didn’t understand was why he didn’t say anything when he saw she was so worried about Jerry and spent so much money to figure out what was going on with him.
She eventually let him back into the house but asked him to pay his share of the vet expenses because he kept this farce going.
