There is nothing quite like walking into a nice hotel room and taking in the comfort of the room for the first time. Your eyes are immediately drawn to the comfortable bed and the other features of the room. When we get home the opposite happens. We enter our home and let out a deep sigh. We were just staying in paradise and now we are back to normality. There are a number of ways to give your home that hotel feeling. Follow our guidance and you can give your home that luxury hotel feel that will mean you never want to leave.
During the coronavirus pandemic, many of us who are used to staying in hotels have been deprived. Don’t get me wrong, a hotel can get old fast. If you are someone who travels for work, living life out of a suitcase can be a nightmare. You are never truly relaxed, you are eating crap, and you have a limited selection of clothing items to choose from. However, the sanctuary that is a hotel room is hard to beat. For those of you who are missing that hotel feeling – read closely.
The first thing to think about is the bed. The hotel bed is all about comfort. The bed is at least queen-sized and quite often king-sized. If you are rocking a single or double bed at home then you need to upgrade so that you can really lounge out in a big bed. Your current or future partner (if you are single) will thank you for this addition too.
Next, ask yourself how comfortable your bed really is. One of the most important areas to invest in for your health is a high-quality mattress. It will hold off back pain for a long time and you will be grateful that you did it. Yet even if you have a comfortable mattress you may not have a comfortable bed. To get one you need to have a thick duvet, a range of pillows, and some nice high-quality sheets. It is these little touches that make all the difference. While you may shudder at the price of high-quality sheets in the store, you will be glad you purchased them the moment you slip inside your sheets for a good night of sleep.
Aside from the bed, there are some other touches you can make. Invest in some nice lotions and oils for the bathroom. We always delight in using the little bottles at a hotel but you can purchase some bigger bottles for your home and ensure an incredible lotion is never far away.
Lighting is something that hotels do very well. If you have a 100-watt bulb in your bedroom and have to choose between pitch black and blinding lights – then you are doing it all wrong. When do you ever need a bright light in your bedroom? Choose some soft lighting options and if possible a dimmer switch to ensure your bedroom always has the right mood.
The vibe of the room is really what matters so take the time to add some nice touches. A few candles will go a long way to giving your room that relaxing feel. Investing in a nice pair of speakers to give your room some surround sound for your music will also help you greatly.
Think of all the things you love about staying in a hotel and start to add them to your own room. Of course, if the thing you love is a few nights away from your snoring partner then we can’t help you there. However, if you love the feel of a soft and thick pillow or a powerful shower in the morning, then start to make the necessary changes now.
